THE ORIGIN STORY
Similar to many Black people, when June 2020 occurred I questioned my way of life. I reflected upon my identity as a Black woman. I was born and raised in a multicultural family in a predominantly white environment. My mother never actively educated me on racism, she only taught me to dismiss it.
June 2020 opened my eyes. I felt the urge to share the Black films I knew. This pushed me to learn so much about what being Black means to me as well as my origins. I now recommend my favourite Black films and books on multiple social media platforms. I hope to have a worldwide impact so Black books and films are given the visibility they so deserve.
